This 1-day Course is one of our 'Guest' Courses written by Su Hagan.
As an introduction to Bowen Therapy, it will enable you to experience its remarkable effects for yourself. It is not a complete training, but will enable you to decide if such a training is for you. Su will provide information on both her own professional training courses as well as details of Tutors accredited by both BTER and The Bowen Association so that, should you decide to undertake further training, you will be able to find a Tutor in your own area.
Tom Bowen developed The Bowen Technique in Australia in the 1950s. It is an amazing system of healing, providing a holistic approach to addressing many diverse and varied conditions - physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual. It helps to balance all aspects of our complex beings and many even report a subtle, yet striking, lightening of the spirits.
Bowen Therapy was first brought to England in 1993. Many professional therapists of other modalities are finding that Bowen adds to their knowledge and understanding of bodywork, often providing a tool to fix previously difficult to address complaints.
Bowen Therapy consists of a series of very precise movements at specific points on the muscle and connective tissue over the whole body, using the thumbs and fingers to minutely disturb the fascia and thereby stimulate energy flow and the body to rebalance itself.
Treatment using the Bowen Technique aims to support and boost the natural healing capabilities of the body. Bowen therapists believe that the body has the ability to adjust, adapt and heal itself.
