PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COURSE IS ALSO AVAILABLE AS DISTANCE-LEARNING
This course is designed for Massage Therapists who want to enhance the treatments they provide to clients whilst maintaining their own professional well-being. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective technique that takes up where Swedish or Holistic Massage leaves off - providing clients with longer lasting results, thereby achieving a higher level of client satisfaction. A lot of the movements are 'hands-free' thereby protecting the hands which would otherwise be strained using the deeper techniques.
Techniques which utilise deep tissue massage effect the sub-layer of musculature and connective tissue. These techniques require a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology and a review of the muscular system is included in the Course-notes. The muscles must be relaxed in order to effectively perform deep tissue massage, otherwise tight surface muscles prevent the practitioner from reaching deeper musculature.
Deep Tissue Massage helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis. It is generally integrated with other massage techniques.
Deep Tissue Massage can enable the therapist to address problems within the soft tissue that would have previously been to referred to someone else. It also enables the Therapist to take better care of their joints by decreasing the pressure and strain that will naturally be incurred when working regularly.
Deep Tissue Massage is easily adaptable to any part of the body and can easily fit into existing routines. It can provide clients with longer lasting results achieving a higher level of client satisfaction.
Students must be practising Bodywork Therapists.
