FAC1 & FAC1a: 'Face Massage: Japanese - Tsuboki'

This is one of our 'Guest' Courses, written and presented by Anne Parry.

Would you like to be able to offer your clients a relaxing facial in addition to, or as an alternative to, a massage?

When Anne began working in Complementary Medicine, she found it hard to find a facial massage course that would give her what she wanted so she went to a beauty school to learn how to give a "Continental Facial", and followed this up with her own research to be able to present this course to you. The result is this fascinating Course which can either be taken as a 'stand-alone' Course or be followed by the Advanced Course.

This Course is for Massage Therapists, Aromatherapists or Beauty Therapists but Anne will consider other applications on a case by case basis.

FAC1: JAPANESE FACE MASSAGE- Tsuboki - Hours 9.00-5.30

The Japanese believe that beauty is more than skin deep and that, in order to be beautiful, one must also be healthy.

This face massage, for those qualified in Beauty Therapy and/or Massage/Aromatherapy, works on both aspects simultaneously:

* working superficially, we can improve skin-tone and lymph-flow.

* working at the deeper muscular level, we can affect muscle-tone and general appearance

* working with the facial meridians, we can affect the balance of health in the whole body - as well as the specific flow of Ki in the face.

Many of the techniques can help to prevent lines, wrinkles and puffiness - a natural facelift!

This fascinating 1-day course is mainly practical, but will also address basic theories, e.g:

* What is a meridian?

* What is a tsubo?

* Theory of Japanese face-massage

* Three stages: Anma, Acupressure, Lymphatic Drainage

* Meridians running through the face - direction of flow and point location

Please note that this Course is a:

Post-graduate qualification course, during which the student is assessed for competence. Subject to the student already holding an appropriate therapy qualification, the assessment being satisfactory and the approval of the students' Governing Body and Insurance Company, it can be added to your list of qualifications.

Please note that on all 'Certificate of Qualification' Courses students are assessed either by Continuous Assessment, Case Studies or Examination.
