'Strain/Counter-strain Techniques'

This 1-day Course is for those Massage and/or Aromatherapists who wish to update their knowledge.

It is also the first day of the Advanced Massage Techniques Course. Once Students complete all days of the Advanced Massage Course a Certificate of Qualification will be awarded.

It enables Students to further develop their range of skills and helps develop an increased awareness of issues of health and disease (physical and mental), in relation to the application of Therapeutic Massage. This 1-day Course is for those Massage and/or Aromatherapists who wish to update their knowledge.

Simply, counterstrain is the form of manual manipulative therapy that uses an indirect means of passively positioning a painful or restricted joint or muscle to relieve pain and mechanical dysfunction.

As its name implies, it counters the results of the initial strain on the body. It is a very gentle technique that requires that the client does nothing but relax while the therapist slowly moves some part of that patient's body, depending on where his/her pain is.

* Palpation

* Cautions and Contra-indications

* Muscular System * Philosophy of Change

* Chinese Self-Massage

Many Associations accept our Courses for CPD including the IFPA (6 Category A Points) and CThA (5 CPD credits).

Topics include:

Studies normally commence at 10.00 a.m. and finish at 5.00 p.m.

Certificates of Attendance are awarded to completing Students.
