This is one of our 'Guest' courses, written and presented by Anne Parry who has been massaging professionally since 1981 and brings a good depth of experience to her courses as well as a down to earth, fun and professional approach.
This course is designed to enable you to add variety to your massage with techniques from Shiatsu, Pulsing, Cranio-sacral and more - with techniques that have the added advantage of being able to be performed though the towel.
Many kinds of massage are performed through the clothes. Incorporating some of these techniques into your table massage expands your repertoire and keeps the massage interesting for you and your client. The techniques are drawn from a variety of modalities, but all have the common characteristic that they can be done through the towel or through clothing - or directly onto the skin. They are non-invasive; they give the client a chance to get used to your touch, to settle, arrive.
The techniques come from modalities such as Shiatsu, Acupressure, Pulsing, Cranio-sacral.... and others that have been with Anne for so long she can't remember where they came from!
Working through the towel at the beginning of a massage has many benefits, including:
Allowing the client time to become accustomed to your touch while feeling safe - especially if it is their first time
Allowing you to use gentle but deep techniques without sliding over the skin
However, these techniques can also be used during or at the end of a massage.
What past students have said about the course:
"The most fun I've had on a course and no sense of wasted time. So much packed in - all relevant and so patiently and enthusiastically delivered"
"I feel like I've learned a whole new therapy!"
