'Clinical Aromatherapy' Diploma

The S.E.E.D. Institute is a School registered with the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) and, as such, it trains Students to International Standards.

Training in Professional Clinical Aromatherapy must take at least 9 months to complete.

It is our experience that students require flexible training; so we have formulated a combined 'in-house' (attendance) & 'distance-learning' (correspondence) training programme so that students may continue at their own pace.

Students are required to attend 12 days of training to include all the practical elements of the Course. The 'distance-learning' elements are in separate modules with full 'on-line' Tutor back up.

The maximum period within which the Course must be completed is 4 years, although completion is recommended within 2 years.

However, all modules (both 'in-house' and 'distance-learning') must be completed before taking the theoretical examination. Students must hold a current First Aid Certificate before their Diploma can be issued.

Students are required to have knowledge of basic massage moves (we provide a 3-day Massage Course for those who have no experience of massage (TM1)) prior to joining the 'in-house' Aromatherapy Massage Module. It is preferable that Students also have a recognised 'Anatomy & Physiology' (A&P) qualification prior to joining the 'in-house' training modules, although we do accept students who will be studying A&P once they have started these modules.

Aromatherapy Diploma Students can start with the 'in-house' Aromatherapy Massage Module AR101 or the 'in-house' Aromatherapy Practical Module AR102 or the Distant Learning Modules ARDL1-4.

We provide two A&P Courses for you to choose from: a 7-day 'in-house' course (AP1) or a modular 'distance-learning' (correspondence) course (AP2). If you are already qualified in A&P, please advise us of your qualifications and the syllabus studied. ITEC A&P and Massage qualifications are acceptable.

We have an advisory team of Tutors to assist the Student between modules and it is our aim to be 100% supportive to our Students - both whilst they are training and once they have qualified as Professional Aromatherapists.

Students are required to complete Clients' Case-Histories and Homework in between courses and an in-depth Case-study and Essay are required as part of the examination.

Course-work contributes towards the final Examination-result and it is our intention to make the Examination as free from fear and as enjoyable as possible.

"The Tutor was amazing - I think she is the best I've ever had".

"I enjoyed myself immensely and was made to feel relaxed, welcome, 'at home'. I am aware of the Tutors knowledge and intuitive abilities. I liked the combination of two different approaches in the morning and in the afternoon".

"More than enough to get us well on the way whilst leaving room for further exploration - an excellent balance. Very well organised. Everything to hand".

"Well split between theory and interaction. Notes clear and specific. Cosy - lots of books to help research".

"Thought I must write and let you know my progress as an Aromatherapist (2 years). As you may remember I always wanted to spend time working with cancer patients and the terminally ill. Well, I've incorporated Aromatherapy into my Nursing as much as possible, but it's been very inadequate and quite frustrating at times. However, it's been worth it since the hospice has asked me to do an extra day as an Aromatherapist and I shall be paid, and not just that, I am running workshops on basic hand and foot massage and am being referred to as the Aromatherapist Co-ordinator! I shall prescribe blends and those who can do the hand/foot massage can use the specific blend on the patient. I'm also setting up policies and guidelines in conjunction with another therapist who works at the hospice. So it's all happening!"

"You may be interested to know that since I graduated from your course I have gone on to become a qualified reflexologist and also a healer with the NFSH. Thank you so much for that wonderful introduction to complementary therapies and the appetite you gave me for learning more to enable me to help others."
