Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy uses a variety of materials, including natural oils extracted from plants, to stimulate the olfactory system and thus produce effects on the brain and the body. Some also have a direct effect on the body as they are absorbed through the skin, in the medium of a carrier oil.

The practice of using aromatic oils for healing can be found in all of the ancient civilizations of Man and it is now accepted as one of the major branches of Complementary Therapy.

Whilst the correct use of Aromatherapy is safe, some of the materials used can have harmful effects. Their use on members of the public without proper training is therefore discouraged. The S.E.E.D. Institute supports and is recognized by the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA), which works to regulate the practice of Aromatherapy to recognized, safe standards.

Our diploma course gives students all the training they need to become a professional Aromatherapist and we recommend that anyone seeking to practice Aromatherapy should complete this course and undertake the IFPA-certified examinations.
